Our proposal

One of the most spectacular places in Galicia: the RIBEIRA SACRA where viticulture becomes" heroic "..." Sacra "for having one of the highest concentrations of monasteries in Europe," heroic "for its vineyards cultivated on the slopes of the river Sil with practically perpendicular slopes… it is said that even the Roman emperors enjoyed the excellence of this wine… ” Our proposal is a 4-day tour that will take us to enjoy one of the least known areas of Galicia, but with a beautiful historical and natural heritage: the RIBEIRA SACRA ... day 1 MONFORTE & SOBER

We will visit the beautiful medieval town of MONFORTE (capital of Ribeira Sacra area and fief of the powerful Count of Lemos, , after our lunch at the Parador we will move to the village of SOBER to taste the famous AMANDI wine.

day 2 THE SIL RIVER CANYON

Today will take us to the heart of the Ribeira Sacra to visit the church of SAN PEDRO DE ROCAS (one of the oldest churches in Galicia) and SAN ESTEVO (today transformed into a Parador). After a boat ride through the Del Río Sil canyons, we will visit a local winery for our WINE TASTING.

day 3 CASTRO CALDELAS & SANTA CRISTINA MONASTERY

Today we will visit the medieval town of CASTRO CALDELAS (including its magnificent medieval castle) and the monastery of SANTA CRISTINA,. It includes a winery for doing a WINE TASTING

day 4 FERREIRA LAND

Today we will visit the only female Cistercian monastery in Galicia “SAN SALVADOR DE FERREIRA” and the pre-Romanesque church of SAN MIGUEL DE EIRÉ, to then go to a local winery where we will taste the famous AMANDI win
