Our proposal

A winemaking tradition from the Roman Times. In the Middle Ages wine cultivation spread throughout the area as it was used as a payment currency. The sixteenth century was its Golden Age when the Count of Monterrey was name viceroy of the American colonies, its use was extended in these areas, competing with the same port wine… ” Our proposal is a 4-day tour in which, following the course of the TAMEGA river, we will enjoy one of the most unknown appellations of origin but with wines that surprise locals and strangers ... day 1 VERIN-MONTERREI

We will visit the border town of VERÍN (including one of the most famous water springs in Spain: CABREIROÁ) and the spectacular CASTILLO DE MONTERREI (today the Parador Nacional and where the first printing press in Galicia was located). Includes a local winery for a WINE TASTING.

day 2 THE RIVER BIBEI CANYON

Today brings us to know one of the jewels of Galician Baroque architecture and one of the least known: THE SANCTUARY OF LAS ERMIDAS … built in a unique enclave: THE CANYON OF THE RIO BIBEI, this monastery that became very powerful thanks to the cultivation of wine … PONTE BIBEI (where one of the few preserved Roman bridges in Galicia is located) … and the medieval village of VIANA DO BOLO .Includes a WINE TASTING in a local winery.

day 3 ALLARIZ & SURROUNDINGS

Today we will visit the beautiful medieval town of ALLARIZ, the old historical capital of Galicia to visit its magnificent old town, where curiously, in the 19th century, it was condemned by lycanthrope Manuel Romasanta, and the imposing MONASTERY OF SAN SALVADOR DE CELANOVA. visit a local winery for A WINE TASTING …

day 4 CHAVES

Today we will cross the border with the neighboring country to visit the beautiful Portuguese town of CHAVES, well known for its thermal waters appreciated since Roman times and where we will have the opportunity to taste the world famous “BACALLAO” in the afternoon. we will go to a local winery for the realization of A WINE TASTING
