GALICIAN ALBARIÑO VS PORTUGUESE ALVARINHO
We head to the south of Galicia on the border with Portugal where one of the most appreciated white wine grapes in Europe is grown: The Albariña grape (or alvarinha as it is known in Portugal).
This route takes us to one of the oldest borders in Europe, where the river Miño not only acts as a dividing line but also waters both banks, transforming the area into an authentic orchard, where, apart from vineyards, fruits and flowers grow everywhere
We leave Santiago towards Tui where we stop to make a brief visit to its historical center including its imposing cathedral-fortress.
From there we will leave to visit the wineries included in the tour (Pazo de Sobral(awarded with a gold medal in 2017) in Galicia and Edmun de Valin Portugal).
After visiting and tasting its excellent wines we will go to Valença do Minho, where one of the most impressive forts of Portugal is located, to enjoy a typical Portuguese meal. After lunch, free time to stroll through the cozy historic center and do some shopping.
